What Is Creative COW StockYard? The StockYard is a stock media service created by the team at Creative COW to allow our members to both sell and buy stock media for projects. We do not wish to compete with sites selling low-end budget photos and videos, nor do we wish to compete with sites charging high rates at the very highest ends of the market. Instead, we wish to be a fair and reasonably priced middle-to-high-end provider of quality licensed works. That is our vision and our mission.
What Are My License Rights? We will post the full legal description in just a bit but in a nut-shell our policies are: Creative COW StockYard files are royalty-free and grant you the right to use the file in projects, large or small. You can use them in video, in print or on the web. What you cannot do is sell the files in their raw state or use them in any way within a series or image or other file that is for sale as an image library, video library or other form whose intended purpose is to sell files to others as stock or other raw media.
Important Note About SOME Audio Files & Music Scores: As is industry custom, some audio files and music scores are “rights managed” and require additional licensing when used in major film, broadcast, commercial or other projects. These files are clearly marked in the StockYard and they require “queue sheets” or log-sheets to comply with their licensing restrictions. If you are using them in smaller local or in-house projects, you are fine in nearly all cases but in highly visible projects in which the content will reach mass markets, you must maintain queue or log sheets and pay additional royalties as prescribed within the file’s homepage here in the StockYard. We are warning you and will warn you again at the time of purchase: you are responsible with some (clearly marked) audio and music files to maintain and pay additional license royalties on files you elect to use in larger and more public productions.
How Does Your Credit System Work? Our credit system is actually very simple to understand, we use a one-to-one system of whole units:
One Credit = One USA Dollar
We do not price things using dollars and cents because we do not employ strategies that force users into leaving monies in our account because they cannot spend anything less than whole dollars/credits, so they leave them should they wish to close their account. Add a few hundred thousand of these over the course of a year and you can see why it’s an popular method that many use, we do not. Our system works on whole units which allows you to get full value for your money -- and it also allows us to offer refunds on unredeemed credits, should you one day ask.
Do My Credits Expire? No, we do not terminate your credits after a year as do some sites. Your credits remain active as long as you have an active Creative COW or Creative COW StockYard account. If prolonged inactivity flags your account as possibly being inactive, we will contact you to encourage you to close your account and gain a refund of any outstanding monies due to you.
Can I Get a Refund on Unused Credits? Yes, we will give you your money back, at your request. We do not force you to spend all of the money previously credited to your account.
Do You Offer Refunds on Downloaded Files? Emphatically, no. Please do not ask as we will deny every request for a refund on files that are downloaded. We provide larger image and audio previews that any site we have seen on the net. In many of our files, we also provide supplemental information that can help you make successful choices. But once you download a file, it is yours. We will not refund downloaded purchases. Again, please do not ask.
Do You Keep a Record of My Puchases? Yes, our bookkeeping and records department keeps a copy of every transaction but we use the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Worldpay credit card processing system and we do not get credit card information from them. We do not want to know and we like it that way.
Do You Keep My Credit Card Number? No, as stated in the previous comment, we do not get your credit card information during the transaction. Only RBS Worldpay (backed by the Royal Bank of Scotland, one of the world’s leading financial institutions) sees your information and account numbers. Your credit card number is never revealed to us at any time in the online transaction. |
